What is the Gospel?

The Gospel, the "Good News" is the message of salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and the only way to eternal life.

Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, fulfilling prophecy (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23), and was conceived by the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:35), fully God and fully man. He came into the world not to condemn it, but to save it (John 3:16-17).

He lived a sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 4:15), demonstrating the love, holiness, and truth of God through His teachings, miracles, and compassion. Jesus healed the sick, cast out demons, forgave sins, and proclaimed, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17).

At the appointed time, He willingly gave His life for the sins of all mankind. He was crucified, taking upon Himself the punishment we deserved (Isaiah 53:5-6; Romans 5:8). On the cross, Jesus bore the wrath of God for sin, satisfying the justice of a holy God (1 John 2:2; Colossians 2:13-14).

He died and was buried, and on the third day, He rose again (1 Corinthians 15:3-4), conquering death, sin, and the grave (Romans 6:9-10). His resurrection is proof of His divinity and the assurance that all who believe in Him will be raised to eternal life (John 11:25-26).

After His resurrection, Jesus appeared to many witnesses (Acts 1:3; 1 Corinthians 15:5-8), taught His disciples, and then ascended into heaven (Acts 1:9-11), where He now sits at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us (Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25).

He sent the Holy Spirit to empower, comfort, and guide believers (John 14:26; Acts 2). Through the Spirit, we are born again, sealed, sanctified, and gifted to fulfill the work of the Kingdom.

Jesus Christ will return again in glory and power to judge the living and the dead (Revelation 22:12; 2 Corinthians 5:10). Those who have trusted in Him will enter into eternal life, and those who have rejected Him will face eternal separation from God (Matthew 25:31-46).

WHAT MUST WE DO?

Repent and believe the Gospel (Mark 1:15). Salvation is a gift of grace through faith, not by works, but by trusting in Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9).

To accept Christ means:

  • Confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord,

  • Believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9-10),

  • And surrendering your life to follow Him daily (Luke 9:23).

This begins a lifelong journey of transformation, holiness, and discipleship, being conformed into His image (Romans 12:1-2), empowered by the Holy Spirit to live in righteousness, make disciples, and share this Gospel with others (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8).

This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ, our Savior, our Lord, and our soon returning King.

The Prayer of Salvation:

Heavenly Father,
I come to You today humbled and broken, recognizing that I am a sinner in need of a Savior.
I confess my sins before You, everything I’ve done knowingly or unknowingly that has separated me from You.
I repent. I turn away from my old life, and I turn toward You.

I believe with all my heart that Jesus Christ is Your Son.
I believe He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and willingly died on the cross for my sins.
I believe that He rose from the dead on the third day, conquering sin, death, and the grave.
I believe He ascended to Heaven and is seated at Your right hand, interceding for me even now.

Lord Jesus, I invite You into my heart.
Be my Lord and my Savior.
Wash me clean. Renew me.
Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so I may be empowered to live a life that honors You.
Teach me how to walk in righteousness, how to love like You love, and how to follow You daily.
Make me a new creation—old things have passed away, and behold, all things are made new.

I surrender my will, my ways, and my future to You.
Help me to grow in faith, to read Your Word, to pray with purpose, and to fellowship with other believers.
Use my life for Your glory, Lord.
I declare today that I am saved, I am forgiven, I am redeemed, and I belong to Jesus Christ.

Thank You, Father, for Your mercy.
Thank You, Jesus, for the cross.
Thank You, Holy Spirit, for dwelling within me.

In Jesus' holy and powerful name,
Amen.
